Dear All,
We have been running cyrus for roughly 8 hours in a production environment and it
has failed. It will not start at all. It just sits their doing nothing. The following
errors are in the log file although these are follow by hundreds of lines similar
to this.
It is the latest stable vers

I think it's --with-mboxlist-db=skiplist
I still use 2.1 with bdb myself, but a quick search of the archives (I
love squat indexes - <1s search on a 4500 message mailbox over a 512k
WAN) suggests that's correct.

2.2 does runtime configuration of the databases. And the default for the
mailbox list is skiplist, however, duplicate.db and tls_session
I am using the Cyrus-Sendmail integration as done by Andrzej Filip. I'm having
problems with some aliases.
The problem is with aliases that are in virtusertable which point to an alias in
the aliases file (because the aliases forward to multiple destinations). All

Lenny, you've told Sendmail that example.net's final delivery is an error
message. This means you can't deliver to local addresses, because sendmail
doesn't know how. Mailertable has to tell sendmail how to deliver to the
local address.

We had a similar problem this afternoon and some people helped out with
sugestions. What we did was
1. stop the master server
2. delete files in the /var/imap/db directory
3. restart the master
I suspect there might be a need to run utilities such as db_recover
Seems to me I remember there's a script somewhere in the info-cyrus list
archives that would walk the imap spool dirs and create a flat-text
mailbox DB that could be imported using cvt-cyrusdb if your current
mailboxes DB is completely hosed.
