I think your imapd.conf file is correct. How are you creating your
user? Are you specifying user/first.name when creating it?

Hi,
I m using version 2.0.17.
Trying to create a user name with dot, but it seems doesn't allow me

I have a user who deleted an email and then cleared their Trash folder,
but of course would like it back now.
Every night I stop Cyrus, and perform a tar of /var/spool/imap. What I
tried to do was I created a new user and then I restored the users files
into this new user's directory. I did

Thanks Ken Sebastian,
I changed the News to news and it worked. I will see if I can find a sendmail
config change to allow caps.

I believe I had to create a cyrus id under SASL that was assigned to whatever the
default domain was that I specified in my imapd.conf. Once I dd that I was able to
login as cyrus (specifying no domain during login) and able to administer any of the
domains.

I am running Cyrus 2.2.3 and I am running virtual domains, which I have working. I am
trying to create a shared folder for all the users.
I first tried to create a shared folder, like shared/News, but I kept on getting a
mailbox unknown error. So then I tried to create a shared folder,
that one out yet. I will keep on
plugging away at it. I tried sending it to a Cyrus account, which I was able to do,
but I couldn't get the IMAP client configured right to login and get the mail.
Thanks everyone for your help.

@$#%?! I thought I was running the latest version of Cyrus. I am a doofus.
Let me install the 2.2.3 version and see what happens.
I will send out an update in a day or two on the results of this.
Thanks everyone.

with upgrading Cyrus, I will try to figure out why this isn't
happening eventhough it seems to be in my sendmail.mc and sendmail.cf files.

Since no one has answered by previous post, I will try a different tact.
In another post I've seen reference to a manual section 18.5 or something like that.
Where is this manual?
The Cyrus website points to the doc/ directory that comes with the distribution as
containing the manual. I've

Thanks everyone, I'm off to read the manual for an explination on why
it effected a local_part with no prefix or suffix.

I didn't think there was a manual, that's why I was surprised when I

I am running Cyrus 2.1.16 and Sendmail 8.12. My sendmail.mc file has the line
