Oracle Corp. has apparently released their first cut at P-IMAP support in
their recent 10g announcement, but I'm hoping that there may be some
non-proprietary implementations on the horizon...

I think it's a combination of primarily two things -- users setting up
long-ish vacation messages and doing (arguably inelegant) things to
black/whitelist addresses.
In the cases I've seen so far, a user will either have an explicit list of a
few hundred email addresses from which they want all
e issues as a result of relaxing the
size limit? So far, the large scripts we've seen are pretty mundane and don't
appear likely to cause excessive load or delivery delays, but I'd be
interested in what other folks have seen.

gs that you've seen work in similar situations? At this
point, upgrading to 2.2.x is on our radar, but probably not something we can
approach before mid-semester (2-3 months out), so suggestions for solutions
with Cyrus v2.1.x would be most appreciated...
