Hi,
I have a cyrus 2.1.15 running on Suse 9.0. It authenticates againt sasl2
(saslauthd), which uses ldap to get the credentials. And now, if I put in
invalid usernames or passwords, I get the following outout:
--- snip ---
mail:~ # telnet localhost 110
Trying ::1...
telnet: connect to address
Have you check syslog for messages from saslauthd/cyrus? What version of
cyrus-sasl do you use?

SASL version is 2.1.15, too. Neither syslog nor running saslauthd with

I could try that, but I guess both logins are not encrypted because I use

Does saslauthd dump when you login with an invalid username?
No, the daemon is up and running all the time. A login try with correct
credentials is successful.
The only other thing I can suggest is to upgrade sasl first. You should
also upgrade cyrus-imap; it is kinda old...
Updating sasl
