I had to restart another copy of emacs to post this since the first
process is frozen after I hit "g" in the summery buffer to get the
latest articles, it has been showing the hour-glass for few minutes
and I don't know what to do but to kill the process and loose all
visited buffers.
any idea

I have my guns pointing to my isp news server. is this the usual thing
to do? or there is a better news server out there, basically for some
common news groups that I use it for, nothing special or fancy.

no message displayed at all, it often happens when I disconnect and
reconnect to the Internet. and for sure happens when I forget that the
Internet connection is down and hit "g".

using version No Gnus v0.6, while in the group buffer, hitting
on a group name, gives the option to get n articles or (default
x). no mater if I hit to accept the default or select say
333 for the number of articles, it takes more or less the same time.
any idea how to fix this?

I need to check for new articles when I am in the summary buffer, I
hit g in the group buffer but is there a way to do this while you are
in the summary and not have to exit to the group buffer?

when I am in the summary buffer, or article buffer, r is to reply to
author and w is to reply to group. but w is now working, hitting it
does not do anything. I need to reply to group, how can I do this?
