Anyone going to this? The thing is -- one can keep Windows 200x servers and
still do this stuff. Novell isn't servers so much anymore as it is management
solutions.

By doing the Windows Server settings, you can add the duplex option and
tell the machine to duplex all of your printing. This setting will only
affect Windows 2000 and XP machines. If you have 9x machines, you will
have to physically touch each on of those and manually change those
settings.

Windows Server all you need to do is adjust the printer properties on the
server and save the settings. All computers that then print to that network
printer will default to those settings.
BTW the 4050 will also allow you to print 1,2,4 or more pages per side as well.

I need to know if I put a duplexer on one of my hp 4050n can I make it so it
will default to printing on both sides. It would save me lots of paper in our
business lab, next year he will have a document checker.

I'm pretty sure you can set that up as a default at the server. I'm gonna
assume that you are running a win2000 or 2003 server. If you go into the
properties of the printer, you should be able to define what default is.
