According to Iowa law, we MUST educate all children living in our district, it does not matter if they have a SSN or are citizens of the US or not. So back to my original question: How many schools are taking SSN's off of their student information systems? I do not want a debate on the legalit

Ok, this ain't gonna be popular, but here we go... 1. Schools are not a big target for identity theft. I don't know about you, but we don't store financial data (credit cards, checking accounts) with student data, and the existing info without the SSN is adequate to steal someone's identity anyway

I had a class in DM this past summer and their were some administrators from some of the bigger schools in iowa in attendance. After doing some discussions with them, it seems like many of those schools are removing the SSN from their Student INformation Systems. According to Iowa, we are not
