I was just asked by my business secretary, about an INtangible Assest
policy. Apparently there is a policy at the state level relating to
asset tagging software, and all non-tangible tech (see also:
Webpage). I was wondering if any of you have heard about this, or is
this something we
Karl-
This is news to me. Did you have a webpage that talks about it,
or where are you getting the information?
We don't have anything like that, as far as I know. Sorry.

I think some of those tangible ass-sets could be eliminated and bail the
state out with the cost savings.

Here is what our business manager sent me yesterday about this:
I forgot to tell you about the next fun thing we (Business Managers)
get to report for this year! This one is called GASB 51 and it has to
do with intangible assets. Basically what I need to know is if we
have any software
So the big question is, is the threshold the TOTAL or is it PER
title. Another thing to remember, is according to what I read in GASB
51 the Website, if developed in house is considered an internally
developed software.
I also know the board needs to have a policy in place by July 1. :)
From what Jackie stated, and you said again Karl, that to me sounds like
if we have built software to do something, that is what they are
referring to.
Our Business Manager is in Europe right now, and I don't think really
cares so much. I think he is also hoping for another volcano eruption,
so
Good one

My business secretary was informed through her Business Secretary
association IASBO. SO if you want to read about it, I would say talk
with your business secretary.
What I hope comes from this, is that we
