The State of Iowa has signed up with a nationwide online auction service,
GovDeals.com, to sell state surplus equipment and supplies. The State
Library of Iowa has currently listed several printers, scanners and other
library related items on the website. The website runs similar to EBay and
other online auctions and requires a PayPal account or major credit card
for winning bid payments.
Libraries can pick up some good equipment very cheap! For example, we have
listed several HP LaserJet 1300 printers at the starting bid price of
$15.00! To view these printers and other items for sale, from the
GovDeals.com website home page, select "Search by Zip" in the upper left
section, then enter your zip code on the next page. This will narrow the
search down to within 100 miles of your location. Our printers are
listed under Computers, Parts and Supplies.
This is a national website and most items currently for sale are located
out of state. As more State of Iowa agencies begin using the site, more
items will be locally located. Register today as a bidder with the
following directions:
1.Go to http://www.govdeals.com
2.Select "New Members Register Free"
3.Register as a bidder
4.Registrants are manually verified which may take one to two business
days. You may expedite your registration by calling the GovDeals.com Help
Desk at 1-800-613-0156 and choose selection 1
5.Once you receive your temporary password from GovDeals.com and
successfully log in for the first time, you will be registered
GovDeals.com bidder!
