I teach 7th and 8th grade computer literacy. A portion of our
curriculum is to provide some beginning keyboarding instruction (more
to even the playing field than anything else). We needed to replace our
ancient network version of Typing Tutor and purchase something new.
Possibly it might be used by our 5th or 6th graders, and would be used
for warm-ups in a few high school level computer applications classes.

We tried Mavis Beacon, but for some reason it doesn't seem to install
on our network. Additionally, the business teacher really doesn't like
it at all. I've used UltraKey (a long time ago) and liked it. Type to
Learn is definitely too simplistic.

We run PC's with Windows 98 and eMacs with OS X on an (I believe)
Windows NT network. We have no preference about whether the software is
installed on the network on or individual machines, though the student
files should be "saveable" to their own or a designated network folder.

Any brilliant ideas?
