Hi Brynn, what would you want to link to from the headings? There's no single book, reference or manual that could be linked to from them... what was your plan?
Splitting up manuals and references would be okay for me, although I wouldn't think that's strictly necessary. There are only four items under the common heading anyway. Not enough to make it difficult to get a quick overview for a site visitor ;) Still, go ahead if you feel it will help readability. You seem to have a good sense for that.
