I think the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable is used by Solaris, I'm not so sure
if Linux will use itIn order to get Linux to find your .so file you will probably
need to, as the root user, add the directory to the /etc/ld.so.conf file and run the
ldconfig command.
