Well, I personally never thought this type of peripheral would have played into LiveCD/install boot stability at all, but the culprit was the USB keyboard that I had plugged in. I was using an Apple A1243 (Aluminum Wired USB) keyboard, and I switched that out replacing it with an old Dell PS/2

I've got a shiny new ASUS M3A78-EMH board with an AMD Phenom 9750 processor and 8GB of PC2-8500 RAM. OpenSolaris 2008.05 LiveCD freezes after nv_86 banner/copyright notice. When booted with '-kv', I see that it get's to PCI enumeration and hangs. The last notice I see is: 'NOTICE: Kernel debug
