I too had nvidia issues, I found I needed newer nvidia drivers from the
nvida site...

pkg refresh
pkg install entire at 0.5.11-0.95
pkg install SUNWcsd SUNWcs
pkg install redistributable
...
some follow up stuff to get it to boot
...

latest is no successful image-updates but a number of GRUB entries and

I would certainly agree that diskless/swapfull clients are an important
part of the OS makeup, but a project would be a better place to start.
The tool enhancement of 'smdiskless' and the OS services necessary to
provide diskless support are welcome.

I LU'ed to B78 last night, and ran out of space in 5.6GB root which on
b76 was only 75% full. /var built fine, failed on the copy of the copy
of the mini root ...
sound familiar, or is it likely to be an issue with my install server???

i attach via vpn to a sun internal install server over a 5mbs wireless
link...
an external media server would sure be a nice addition to the community
