*Position:: Devops Engineer* *Location:: San Jose, CA* *Duration:: 12+ months* *Note:- VISA copy required for submission.* *Roles and responsibilities :-* · Maintain the operational health and stability of the Linux/windows infrastructure. · Proactively monitor and mitigate risk, and propose solutions including risk and benefit analysis. · Demonstrate, collaborate, and share expertise to educate surrounding team members to increase the collective knowledge of the team. · Support and be responsive to off-hours emergencies and activities. This is an on-call Production support position. · Perform regularly scheduled maintenance to ensure the operational health of the environment. · Identify gaps in current processes as they apply to the environment that this position supports and maintains; update and maintain the process documentation. · Provide end-user support, resolve technical issues, and give technical assistance for both OS and application layer as assigned. · Continuous maintenance of business software applications. · Implement, install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and evaluates existing and new operating systems and the applications that reside on those systems. · Confer with database admins, programmers, analysts and/or other system administrators. · Automate applications deployment, packaging, monitoring and other aspects of release lifecycle. · Architect and build robust Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/Heroku-based) for hosting new and existing applications. *Essential Skills :-* · Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to perform in “under pressure” situations while collaborating to develop sound implementation approaches to solve business and environment problems. · Multiple years Linux system administration experience, with RHEL certification(s) or equivalent a must. Other OS experience (esp. Windows) is a plus. · Proficient in multiple scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, shell, JavaScript, Scala, Scheme, etc.). · Strong background in the LAMP solution stack. · Knowledge of Linux internals and common UNIX daemons (httpd, nfs, sshd, smtp, etc.) · Preferred experience to include broad OS and systems knowledge (e.g. UNIX internals, device drivers, FreeBSD), open source tools (e.g. dtrace, ktrace), web service components (e.g. load balancing), storage and clustering (e.g. column stores, Hadoop). EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE · At least 6-9 years of hands-on experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting Linux/Unix/windows operating systems, internet-based applications, and web servers. · Experience in diagnosing complex technical issues. · Experience with industry-standard CM solutions such as Chef and Ansible (or similar: Puppet, CFEngine, Saltstack). · Experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter. · Experience with Cloud Computing platforms and PaaS solutions: AWS, Heroku. · Must have exceptional customer service skills. *Thanks and regards,* *Jyoti Budhwar* United Software Group Inc. 565 Metro Place S.
