3 positions 3-6 Contract to hire Only USC or GC. The Application suite to be supported sits in the data path of Verizon Wireless. Since all the Verizon wireless data flows through it. It is a mission critical application and expectation is of a 100% uptime. It has a load balanced fault tolerant architecture to support the uptime requirements. The hardware platform is consisted of n/w and computing processors and has blade architecture. The application suite itself is based on Linux operating system. It uses Diameter protocol and Rest APIs. Responsibilities • Be part of the 24x7 Tier 2 support team working in shifts. Initial requirement is to support evening and night shifts • Provide the first line of defense for field issues. Run the basic problem isolation drill and escalate the issue to T3 if required • Act as the coordinator during the process of troubleshooting. Maintain a conference bridge, remote connectivity where T3 support can gather more information • Facilitate the gathering of requested information to T3 support, or vendors Skills: • BS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred • Relevant industry experience (7+ years) 1. Conversant with Linux Operating system, commands usage. 2. Experience in Network configuration options/commands (TCP/IP) – traceroute, ping 3. Hands-on Scripting : shell, awk, perl a. Ability to automate tasks , for instance : schedule / draw reports out of WebServices logs b. Desirable : programming in Java as these Applications are Java on Apache on Linux. 4. Applications to be supported are based on advanced WebServices a. Knowledge about HTTP, REST APIs, SOAP/XML 5. Good Communication Skills – both verbal and written 6.
