There are a couple of "libipmi" libraries out there, actually, but I do not believe ipmitool uses any of them. If you want a script-based interface to ipmi from a shell script, ipmitool is a good way to do this. There is also ipmiutil (http://ipmiutil.sourceforge.net/). OpenIPMI provides dire
