Yes. I used esxboot-x64.efi from xcat. I have not noticed error about
BOOTIF or something else when booting.

I haven't heard anything back in regards to this. I'm just following up to see
what I'm doing wrong here. I've tried to get this working but it doesn't seem

My experience is that http is always dramatically faster than ftp in these
boot situations. Perhaps the http protocol implementation is easier, and
http over tcp better supports multiple packets in flight?
