With K getting down to 0, more northerly western cx have improved, although
not superb in any way and some TA hets/weak signals are showing up.
Typically here in IL, we need several days like this to make TA's really
good, and at least another to have stunning west coast cx (at least north of

Yes, indeed. They are on with Punjabi programming. They don't seem to be
over modulated as much as they were. At least here, unless it is
conditions. At 1700 UTC (9 AM PST), they are S5-7 here off my WNW EWE.

If I understand correctly, using a 5 kHz tone would make the signal hearable 5
kHz above below the carrier frequency. So, one would just tune their highly
selective receiver up or down 5 kHz (to whichever frequency has least splash).
Ought to make hearing all 50 states possible if most of them
CJRJ at a good level with Indian music at 1710 PST.

I recall those days altho I never heard anything exotic. However, most of the
GY's were fairly open on MMs at the time. The furthest east I ever heard on a
GY frequency were Miles City MT on
1340 as well as Wheatridge WY on 1340 Casper WY on 1400 or El Paso TX on

They play mostly non-stop east Indian music and only occasional IDs. At 04:40
they said, You are listening to a test broadcast from RJ 1200, and then
returned to music
These IDs are heard only a few times an hour...perhaps only at 20 min past the
hour and 20 min before? I'll monitor for the

I listened from 10:21 to 10:45 PM PST and heard nothing. There was something
that sounded like a low frequency tone that ran for 5 seconds and then a
break but that might be manmade. No sweep tones or code here. There was a
Coast to Coast station in there but nothing else I could even identify.
Nope, there's another ID at 04:55: You are listening to a test from RJ1200
in English and back to the music...Walt.
