Don,
The reason I remember the WNUE 1400 test, is I was a college kid with
little money. I got my IRCA bulletin via 3rd class mail at $6.50 a year.
It was $9.50 first class. Anyway, I did not know about the test. It was
one of these quick with little advertising ones. Just my luck I was
tuning
Good Morning,
Radio Rossii heard on 180, 189, and 279 at 1008 UTC. All with weak audio.
JOUB 774 HLAZ 1566 heard with weak audio also at 1025 UTC.
The Vancouver, BC station on 1200 is peaking at S-9+35 db. Was able to phase
the signal down to hear WOAI briefly.

The CFAN-790 test I arranged a few years ago was also heard in California.
Curtis sent a tape in to the CE, who verified it. The station was not on
the right pattern and was running over 3000 watts on a non-GY channel,
though...

Hello,
This morning was much better than recent mornings. 16 TPs with audio heard, 3
were LW. 594-657-693-738-774-828-1017-1035-1044-1206-1422-1566-1575. No Japan
on 558 or 567, but Japan JORF 1422 fair at times JJ. Also Russia on 648 has
been absent lately, they could be heard almost
nothing very exciting, usual audios, but 1566 and 1575 were better
than they have been the last few days. Also, 612 seemed to be DU,
not quite good enough for readable audio, but the loop said it was DU.

Greetings,
Not a bad morning here, even though I did not get up until 1500. But I
found quite a few JJs, KKs, CCs. Then around 1520 noted a fair decent
Filipino with a preacher in Tagalog on 1017, I presume DXAM Davao City.
Then at 1523, I noted a second Filipino behind them also with a
Bill,
No one doubts your DX. You are a very good veteran DXer with a long
track record. GY DX coast to coast is still possible will the right
conditions, receiver, and antenna. I got the Granby Q test on 1450 back
in the 90s, although they were running 10 KW directional.

Greetings,
In the past several weeks, I have noted quite an increase in the KNPT
1310 signal here on the North Coast during the day. Newport is about 105
air miles South of me, running 5 KW. But their signal which always have
been ok, is better now. At night they drop off the dial going
I DXed from 90 minutes before dawn and essentially heard what Walt
Salmaniw just reported BUT, I see it as quite different from the
AMs experienced during September and October. First, there was
little to no increase in strength (taken as a whole) in the 45
minutes or so of supposed dawn
Well,
After seeing a graphic chart of Walt's observations, his reception
looks much more like a typical Sept/October AM, with lots of hets
from tertiary stations, especially on the high band qualitatively
different from mine, twenty miles or so away! Isn't this an interesting hobby!

time? Only heard one other time when WMAQ went off and KBOI was testing.

Yes, CX were decent this morning, but different from a few weeks ago. I
was surprised to hear the Filipinos this late in the game though. But no
Vietnam 675 was noted, but there was weak audio on 675, but it sounded
JJ in passing. I heard what sounded like a commercial sounding CC
station
Greetings,
I have been receiving a new TIS on 1500 from Fort Lewis WA giving
emergency info because of the flooding (I presume), mentioned Visitors
Center, etc. At 1250 EST 11/7. Fading and weak at best.

Pat,
The Fort Lewis TIS on 1500 has been around for at least two years. It
is no stronger here at home now than it has been in the past so that
is a very good catch no doubt caused by atmospheric conditions. While
checking it out, I noted a new unwelcome guest about 50 degrees
There no record in the FCC Database for a 1500 AM in Washington!

According to Pete, it has been around for sometime though. Some TIS

Pete,
Thanks. I did not know that. Funny I have never caught it before, but I
guess I never checked. I guess it must be operated by Fort Lewis. Know
anything about it?

If it's a federal TIS (as opposed to one licensed to a local or state
government), it won't appear in the FCC database.

As I have mentioned several times previously, the Information Station
Specialists web site is a good adjunct to the FCC TIS web site. It lists
quite a few Federal TIS stations that can't be found elsewhere. I
quickly spotted the Fort Lewis TIS on this list. The list is located at
180 strong here (about 20 mi NW of Phoenix). 189 not audible. 279
blasting; sounded like a semi-local. Not much else of interest (except
for ALJ, Alaska, on 233). Thunderstorms someplace as a fair amount of
static along with the usual electrical noise.

WOAI had an amazing signal on the car radio last Wednesday and Thursday
evenings while I drove home from work, so CJRJ hasn't been on
continuously. On the other hand, it was there every time I checked over
