Kevin,
Most of the real issues are with the 50 KWer as far as the IBOC hash
goes. I still get the hash with the 5 KWers, but not as much. I hear the
IBOC hash on 1240 & 1260 from KWSU 1250 also. KKPZ-1330 is not much of
an issue, as well as KDZR-1640. I can notice it, but not a biggie. KGO,

Sent off a Mp3 clip to Dennis Hayes General manager and Don Perkins Chief
Engineer of KPDQ 800 Portland, OR. Being only
18 miles from their antenna and KPDQ's signal was S-9+20db the reception was
fine except for the hash.

WTOP/WTWP now WWWT 1500 had terrible audio while it was running IBOC in

it off and they sound much better. I have to wonder why a station would

Hi Patrick:
KKPZ on 1330 out of Portland was as bad as it's ever been last night,
clouding 1320/1340 and itself having very poor analog audio. Are they
toying around with their transmitter I wonder?? It must have been even
worse down in your area.

Good job on the new QSLs Patrick!
BTW someone has a large number of AM QSLs from the 1930s for sale on
e-Bay right now. I believe the seller is in FL. The listings on several
of them say they were discovered in an estate. They aren't listed as AM
QSLs. Most are listed by the station call letters.
Colin,
KGO was IBOC last night. At least when I tuned by a few times. But I
don't remember what time it was for sure. I did not notice any from KFBK
though. KSL had theirs on as usual as well as KEX.

Listened from 1240-1325 UT and it was very poor for TP's with carriers on 594,

Hi Bill,
I plan on sending a note or e-mail with the 60 second clip attached. The

Dennis, it looks like you are well within KPDQ's NIF contour.

that being the case, KPDQ would have a legitimate complaint against KGO.
Have you sent a note to KPDQ?

Dennis,
I sent a reception report to KDOW 1680 Seattle and mentioned to the CE
that the KGO hash does cover KPDQ 800 & KGNW 820 at night here. With
KPDQ's 500w, they probably don't cover much of the Portland area at
night at all. Salem should make a complaint.

Dennis and Others,
KGO hash on 820 makes semi-local KGNW difficult to hear even in
Puyallup, about 25 miles away. At night, KDPQ-800 is hopelessly buried under
KGO's
hash, but KDPQ does put in a weak carrier on daytime ground wave, before
sunset brings in the hash from California.
