This one is still pounding in here at 1100 PM, CBEF with an echo. It must
be CBGA1 in New Carlisle QC. It is the same program before the top of the
hour, during the 11 pm news, and after 2305. Not much chance of getting an
ID. I was hoping for some weather after the news.

There's one in Washington, DC, just off Wisconsin Ave.
Western Union went to microwave just after WW2 as a way to liberate itself
from copper wires and increase its bandwidth.

I'll back up Bob Wiens reception of these two stations. From S.F. they
both used to be regular pop ins. After the triplex they are very rare.
Only 1 time for KBKO and that very difficult and no more than a couple
for KIST.

A little nudge from NHP and getting tired of tweaking carriers out of the 2010
setup prompted me to get up a little earlier to feed Pedro out in the shop so I
could use my homebrew receiver. If I feed him in the house and go out to the
shop he will start barking as soon as he finishes his breakf
It wasn't great, but was better than I feared. Audio on four
channels, with brief bursts on three others. 612, 675 and 738 were
there the most consistently.

Very poor today for MW and LWBC. 891 the only one with audio, very poor (6)
briefly 1157 utc, and gone by 1202 utc. Lots of hets over the whole band,
though; 1098 good level het now and then too. No LWBC audio. (AUS Tropical
Band strong 2310, 2325, 2485.) 1737 KUT, PNG beacon very poor 1156 utc.
