Nick, I don't have too much to contribute today, but can add that there were
plenty of hets on the car radio while we were waiting to get on the Port Hardy
to Prince Rupert ferry at 5:00 am local. 828 and 972, for example, comes to
mind immediately. I'd say that I heard at least 6 hets

Good Morning:
Listened from 1145-1305 utc. DXed this morning from bed using the
Palstar R-30 cc and the high performance active whip.
153-180-189-234-279 with audio, the best being 153 180 with fair
signals.
MW, the only audio was 774 Japan with weak signal and a lot of splatter.
Listened from 1215 to 1255UT, mostly Asian again at least for the big signals,
and better than yesterday. For the first time, 972 delivered good audio, not
surprisingly, as the carrier from it was immense, probably the strongest of any
of the 9 kHz channels. Also had reasonably good audio
Remember, for NOW, the digital power on FM is only 1% of the analog. I think it
does well for that exceptionally low power of the digital part.
The thought is to go to 10% on FM, but most plants would have to be replaced at
that power level.

Slight correction from the original post. I reported that this station was
near Fort Myers, FL. That is wrong, it is near Port Charlotte, FL. At 0030 I
got a nice, strong ID and clear ID They IDed as PORT CHARLOTTE. Please
forgive the error.
