Assuming you were dxing from southern california you may have heard the
Torrance station on 1650. Last I heard KFOX are the calls. They have
Asian programming. Can't think of any thing else 1650-1700 out here in
the west with Asian programming.

Nederlands programs, plus the other programs that originates from CBC. I

I'm not 100% sure that I was on 1680, but deifinitely between 1650 and 1700
on the UltraLight.
This was an Asian language station and it's my understanding that KGED is
now adult standards. Possibly, just unsure.

The application of CKBA-850 Athabasca AB to move to FM (94.1 MHz, 9 kW)
has been approved by the CRTC. Here in Calgary AB this is a tough
station to
log due to KOA but I do have them in the log (using a old

There is no doubt it is CBR Calgary. It is part of their CBC Overnight
relay of international broadcasters. Your friend should be about to

I am sure you get CJCA much stronger than I do, but with their minor SW
lobe, there is still enough signal in this direction to be strong enough
to block 930 to the North.
Maybe, we will be lucky when they move that the pattern will null our
areas better.
