I'm not sure it was ever actually operating once the call letter shuffle
started. I was in a place where I could have heard them relatively easily,
and never did. I did hear all the 10-watt TIS stations from Contra Costa,
Alameda, Santa Clara and Sacramento Counties on a regular basis, but never

KABN was highly directional when fully operational, and for its last few
years, ran only a few dozen watts.

Dont count on it staying that way for long. if they're not running IBOC,
they're on their 10KW backup transmitter most likely.. that backup can also
do AM Stereo too.

really makes it tick.
I just wound a couple sense coil turns around the Crate Loop and fed it
straight into the low-Z input on my Yaesu FRG-100B, and it appears to have
more SNR than a Quantum Loop, although the Quantu
Tyler, TX on 600 is fairly easy here in Colorado so they're a good bet for
Pacific NW. Another possible catch is KROD El Paso. They're a regular when

am trying for Tyler TX that has a lobe aimed to the NW. Most of the

CJWW has a minor lobe to the S, but 90% of it goes NNE. I am using the
beverage to hear CJWW/KGEZ/KCOL and none are strong. KGEZ is probably

A couple of changes: KIKN-1290 went silent a couple years back so
KKOL-1300 could boost to 50 kw. KENE-1490 is now KYNR.

When I worked for Cherry Creek Radio in Williston, North Dakota they
referred to the AM station as "NewsRadio 660 KEYZ(pronounced Keys) Country
KEYZ"
The station was classic country, but heavy on news and information and
used that slogan as a way to imply what they were to give listeners an id
I've listened online and KSJB, at least when they have live announcers
(which is 6am to 10pm weekdays, and amazing for a town of 15,000 people),
