Would be nice to hear Cuba on 530. Impossible with local
WPVS 690 in Ridgefield. They put in a S-9+25 db signal. Can
only phase them down to S-9. Sometime underneath, but its
probably Portland International Airport with parking fee

Thanks for your comments. I was the original reviewer of the DT-400W in
the 2008 Summertime Shootout, and have also disassembled the radio
completely, to compare it with the DT-200VX it replaced.

Got the 29th edition of the The National Radio Club's "AM Radio
Log" in the mail today. It will be a big help with it's current list of
radio slogans and other info
I find my CC SWP as sensitive as any of the ultralights I have. Not nearly as
selective, but one feature it has is FAR better audio than the Sangean DT-400W.
The Sangean has a pronounced lack of proper bass response. And the speaker
sounds much better than the one in the Sangean.

Yes, Bill lived in Portland at the time, the East side near 82nd.
KKEE is located at 15th in downtown Astoria on the Columbia River. I
went right by the tower yesterday as I do all of the time. KKEE is poor
once you get 20 miles or so inland, unless you are on the coast, then
the signal

You are right as I did hear both KVAS and KTDO at the same time back in 1970.
At the time I did not know that I heard KTDO but when I played the tape at the
station Charles Farmer the owner of the station said the other station was
KTDO!
