AT 05:00 CST can easily detect the het from WCKL under WIND. The loop
bearing for both is almost identical, perhaps a few degrees more northerly
for WCKL so no chance for nulling WIND. I am located about 40 miles west
southwest of WIND's xmtr site at the south end of Lake Michigan.

Unfortunately, their pattern is aimed NW, so it mostly hits a
few of us Canucks, but it's fairly broad and does throw some
signal out west.
The het does show on the SDR in SE New England. No audio ever noted,
however. WGAN is dominant with WHYN under than. As expected...

Thank you, Brandon! Yes indeed it is working this morning.

This afternoon when I got hom from church and dinner, I gave the the NE

I am very impressed with the results, considering 14X40X14 is not
that much of a EWE. I think I will let my neighbors get used to it and
later I will raise it a bit. I can go up to 17 feet. I can compare

Hello,
Hearing two TIS or HAR stations on 1610. Both have woman
announcers. One stations seems like a HAR station and gives
Highway information for highway 95. Highway 95 is in Idaho.
The other gives TIS information on Highway 17, and the second
largest electric plant in America? And
Hi Dennis,
I strongly suspect your second TIS is the one for Chief Joseph Dam
near Bridgeport, WA.That TIS gets out well, and it seems to me the
message mentions it being the 2nd biggest hydro-power producing dam in
the U.S. Highway 17 runs by there also.

Nigel,
Thanks for the information. They just gave the number for
Park Service information line. It was a 509 area code.
Bridgeport also has a 509 area code.
They also mentioned a 9 hole golf course and one is listed
on the Bridgeport City web-site. Will keep recording for
more information
Thanks Jim. Great! I should get mine in a few days then.

Hello Guys,
The Grundig Mini 300 is one of the Ultralight radios to be reviewed in
the upcoming 2009 Shootout, and is an analog AM-FM radio with 7 shortwave
bands, using a somewhat erratic digital readout system. It retails for around
$35 in the USA.
Prompted by a request on
I'm getting very weak audio between splatter from 560. Nice strong signal on
the waterfall. Sounds like music only in the background. You fellas with

I got two Grundig Mini World 100 PEs a couple of years ago (I think I
won them in a contest) and they both came with the stereo channels
reversed. It had a mere six SW bands along with AMFM. The FM was OK
but it was not exactly a DX machine.
