Hi Guys:
I just found the Live Webfeed for KXPK 96.5 from Evergreen
Colorado...and it is in // with 1090 KMXA which is still in here @ 0240.
The Jingle I have been hearing with "PUNTO CINCO" in it has been ID'd as
well via the Live Webfeed as
"La Tri-Color Noventa Seis Punto Cinco"...wh
I am hearing a strong Spanish station up here in Montana too as of 00:22 MDT.
Excellent signal for what is usually a dead frequency here. Very little to no
fading either. I listened to the over the air signal and their webstream for
about 10 minutes now. This is definitely the same as what i

Thanks to Saul for the heads up. This one is
not needed here, first heard Denver on 1090 back in 1974.

Hi Guys:
I continued to listen to this station until 0135 EDT. I heard several
Jingles that had the word "CINCO" in it.
I just checked my previous log of this station from March/14/09. I see
that on that date I heard the same type of programming in Spanish with
Jingles as "PUNTO CINCO"

Hi Guys:
After seeing Saul's tip a few minutes I tuned into 1090 Khz and I'm
hearing the same SPANISH Station Saul did. I had reported this Station
last Spring when it was fighting it out with WBAL and Kitchener Ontario
before it went over to FM. It was highly suspected that this was
KMXA..
Had a game or sports of some kind in Spanish around 2215, what sounds like
Mexican music around 2345, and an ID in Spanish but with English calls that
clearly began with a 'K' at .
Some good fade-ins, sometimes atop WBAL and WTIC's IBOC.
Does KMXA CO seem to anyone to be using 50,000 wat
I don't know if there's any difference in signal and if in fact 1380 towers
were disabled then are they using new site back up or the old transmitter site?

Keep in mind that my observations were strictly between 12,58 and 13,03
using my W loop. I wasn't there live to switch antennae. I wont
be able to listen further until later tonight or tomorrow as I'm up at

I just posted some photos from the NRC/WFTDA convention radio station
tours in Allentown. You can see them at
http://radiotowers.info/gallery2/v/Pennsylvania/album_001/
They include WSAN, WHOL/WTGZ, and WAEB. WAEB was the one whose tower was
taken down on 4 September by a vandal. You can see

Hi John and Guy,
The 738- Taiwan Fisheries carrier was as loud and obnoxious as ever this
morning. It had moderate Chinese audio around 1305 UTC, with overall strength
equal to that of the strongest Japanese (594 and 747). By coincidence,
657- Pyongyang was also fairly strong this morning (
Does anyone else do this? My favorite check is 368 kHz. If ZP in Sandspit, BC,
100 mi S of the Alaska panhandle, is coming in, audio or at least carriers from
Japan will be heard in MN. If SX Cranbrook, BC is there instead, Japan probably
weak carriers at best, DUs are possible. If only VX from
Was fun in the truck when driving from Grafton to Madison WI last night to
listen to KWKH clobbering WISN with Bird High vs Ruston HSFB. At times there
was some serious Hetting from Croatia going on as well. A load 4000 hz tone. At
other times IBOC, likely KMOX's was a big nuisance.
Re: KWKH..
Guy,
Did 738 have two steady hums on it as well as good audio??? What I
think of as Taiwan-738 has looked like an upside down upper case W
with an extra hump. The center was above the sides, but not by a
whole lot. Gary was hearing the same thing.
Or maybe they fixed it??? I did not have
I have not noted a trace of this from south of you in IL or WI. 73 KAZ who will
be on the lookout for it.

This morning's conditions were below yesterday's reception, with many of the
signals in audio quite weak and fighting the splatter. My mystery station on
1322 kHz faded in again at 1310 along with RTM Malaysia on 1475, but VOA
Thailand 1575 lagged a few minutes. (Yesterday I found all three peaking

This was easily my best morning of the season , with lots of TP
carriers, some of them with audio. T wasn't good enough to make me want

Fellas,
Oddly, my experience on the band this morning was a lot more like
