I've heard 173 California stations, 79 more to go. In the southern 10
counties I only need to hear 13 stations.

Jim has asked me to let the DX community know that he's laid up for a
while after a car accident Wednesday night near his home.
The good news is that Jim is expected to make a full recovery after
suffering injuries to several of his vertebrae. There was no spinal-cord

For almost all of this morning's listening (from 1330-1450), my TP-chasing
results were very similar to those reported by Bruce and Nigel. Low average
was about the best description, with not only the high and mid-band TP's
seriously down in strength from typical October levels,
Having had such a productive Japanese opening very early yesterday,
on our first morning here, Kevin and I got up at 1115UTC, now the
equivalent of 3:15AM LST, a full hour ahead of yesterday's start.

When I was stationed on Treasure Island, back in the mid 60's, I logged most
of the bay area and central California stations. All with a portable radio.
Seems as if it was easier back then, not sure if it was because I was
younger or there wasn't as many stations on the air.

just a station or two from having all of ID. Plus all of Hawaii back in
the 90s. I am missing a handful; of Alaskans. I have all but a few from
BC, AB, and SK.

DXwise, it sure feels like November. I had a few glimmers of hope last
night just before I went to bed. WBBM was killing KKOH, CFZM was
poking through CBX/KCBS, talk shows were audible under KBOI CJDC and
KGO, and NHK stations were already coming in nicely on 747 and 594.
That was at 07
Listened from 1330-1350 ut and conditions were down from yesterday with only a
few weak carriers and no audio.

The reciprocal path is working, too. I'm getting a loud WBBM atop KKOH
at 0715 UT. WBBM is a common catch here, but it's usually not this
strong. Something's buzzing KBOI as well, though I'm not sure if it's
Chicago or Alaska. Unfortunately, there's not much hope of getting WMVP
under KOMO.
