For the record, WNOV stays on past 8 these days, though I'm not sure if
they're 24h, and they moved to 2003 W Capitol Dr, Milwaukee WI 53206 a while
back.

Hi - Congrats to all that landed new stations last night. Wondering if
many were on day power late due to the Midwest Blizzard? I had many
stations underneath the clears but no time to ID any of them (tentative
on New Ulm, MN on 860). The Blizzard of 78 saw many daytime stations in

Hi Chris,
I'll answer your question, but copy the list, too, since some others may be
wondering about this.
Delicast requires some self-orientation, that's for sure. The list of
stations is in a screwy order, so I immediately relist it according to NAME
on the tab above the list.
Again, sunrise enhancement was a misnomerseveral visits to the radio over
1420 to 1600UT showed only carriers for the most part, with the big guns
occasionally showing wretched audio in the splatter. Below 600 kHz was very
quiet this morning at 1600UT, so weak NHK-1 audio was heard on 567

A very nice write up, Jim.
I think you can use globaltuners to ID a signal,
Thanks for the tip on multi-lingual books. Seems to have some limitations,
but good to add to the list of online resources. Appears to have more
worldwide stations. Jim

Hi Nick,
Thanks for your report of this morning's TP's.
Early this morning around 0900 UTC there was also fair audio here on 594,
738, 747 and 972 kHz, plus decent carriers on 666, 1053 and 1134 kHz. This
was far more impressive than the local sunrise period, but still probably

As others noted, very little TP action this morning. Did note audio on
1575 and weakly on 1539 at 1500, but I suspect those were mid-east in
origin.
On the positive side, with the long hours of darkness now the TAs are
getting ever earlier, and thanks to some automated DX, I noted audio

Really nice, Radio Farda ID at 01:33 on 1575. Best I've heard them in a
while! Coffee night with the local DX gang tonight at 7, so looks like I'll
miss all the fun! I'd call this an 8 on my 1 to 10 scale. Very, very nice!

Walt and Nick,
1575-Radio Farda audio was also heard here around 0130, but was much more
modest (not because of propagation, but because of a local TIS on 1580, and
a semi-local KZIZ-1560). These two pests make it tough here for this common
TA, and any signal on 1575 needs serious strength
Gary,
Radio Farda fair to good here too. But nothing much else.

Hi Patrick,
I'm happy that Radio Farda is coming in for you, and that you are surviving
the cold weather, and recent wind storms.
Since I don't have any salt water boost like you, Walt and Nick, I'm
thankful for any TA audio that shows up here :-) 1134-Croatia and 1377-France

That is nice Tom. However, I believe that WABC-770 has their IBOC on, and it
is clobbering WBBM. Just can't win, can you?

Gary,
I am surprised about KZIZ-1560 splattering because here in NE Tacoma
they approach unusability at night. I can understand your TIS problem
on 1580, especially since there are twins in your area (or are there
actually 3?).

Really strong and clear Absolute Radio on 1215 at 04:47. 1575 Farda, of
course, long gone. Some pretty good hets, otherwise not much elseWalt

Thanks Gary. 1377 is pretty much out here, other than a het on rare
occasions, because of local KAST-1370, 5.9 miles away. The NE EWE is
aimed right at KAST too. Fortunately they are narrow in signl and
talk. Rather weak considering the distance though.
Noted Iceland 189 a bit later too, but
