Was able to phased down local KXL 750 tonight a hear KFQD for about 5 minutes.
0718-0723 utc including a commercial for radio station KHAR 590. Alaska weather
for about 3 minutes. First time heard at this location. Heard at Grayland.
Fair signal for about 5 minutes.

overall not up to yesterday's standard.. Like yesterday, my listening
was from 1445 to 1535. This morning's audio:

I get a carrier on 828. Infact I get a lot of carriers, including 639,
but few ever have any decent audio. Denmark 1062 was neat last night.
But TA's can be tough here, expect for 1134 & 1575.

Here is NW OR, I get all the AM stations from the Lower Mainland.
CBU-690 is by far the strongest with their main lode aimed right at me.
Listenable on car radios. CKWX-1130 is second in signal, followed by
CKNW-980 and CKMJ-730. CKNW puts about 4500 watts ERP to the SW. Next is
probably CISL-650,

Yes, many times, including tonight - never any audio here either. No clue

The originial owner had enough money to run the station.Probably not a
lot to keep it running.He built it from scratch. Coast about $40K to buy
the probably, get the tower up and on the air, as I remember.

I've been spending some time here with local WPAZ off for an undetermined time.
Mostly I've listened at sunrise and sunset as overnight WXXI is usually
dominant.

Not as much time available this morning, but it seemed better in the lower
portion of the band, and maybe a little down from yesterday. Hard to tell, as
fade ups are so erratic that the longer I listen, the more I hear. The
following are from 1350, 1430 and 1515UT listening.

Yes, their tower is quite short. It is only 54.10 degrees electrical height. A
quarter wavelength, which is desirable, is 90 degrees electrical height. It is
very close to a bay so the ground conductivity should be pretty good.
A quarter wavelength at 820 is 300 feet. Their tower is 180 feet.
Ran across 810 at 1035 PST and found KGO with dead air and a few minutes
later a shut down which lasted about 15 minutes and heard female voice sounding
like a sports caster so I looked in the log and suspected it would be WHB
Kansas City Mo which was still audible after SF came back on before

but rather they operate, I think, on a tower much shorter then 1/4 wave for

The market is too small for a 1 KW station on AM there. Too many other
stations. The orginial owner did ok with adult standards, but the
ownership of KORC has been bouncing around for years. Too many stations
in the market and not enough ad money. C&W, oldies, AC, are all taken on
FM. I wish
Adultya standards aint going to work well for KORC< the station can'\t and
didn't survive well with that format.. thats why the station was for sale.
I wouldn't be surprised to see some form of country or late 50s thru mid
70's oldies. Talk radio is possible too
