So this was an actual product (i.e. a physical box that you could take
with you)? Did you note the name of the product or a website? I'd be
interested in checking them out, in terms of web based reviews and such,
to see if any SWL's or Ham's have had any bad experiences with it. I

I have mentioned before that I am working on getting my Excel logs into Access.
I've run into a problem of my own creation, but one I never anticipated along
the way.
I've kept my dates formatted as yymmdd in my log. That was better before Y2K
than it is now, as I then had to pre-format Excel

I'm excited, but I think I'll wait for version 4.1b, which I understand will
allow us to program not only the date but the geographic coordinates of the
receiver. I'd start with the last weekend in December, 1964, from Pampa, Texas,
to see what I missed, then travel around the world, sampling
Oh, and 4.1c lets you attach any antenna of your choice.
Let's see ... if you can change date, location and antenna I'll bet Nico could
charge just about anything he wanted for that upgrade.
Now that's a 'software defined radio!' Heck, that's a 'software defined world!'

It will be cool to eavesdrop on what Marconi heard and ascertain the exact
frequency.
I may have to do that.

Finally, I can access radio broadcasts on every April 1st going back to

Right, I was thinking about Marconi also. His first wireless transmission to
Europe from the US was from Wellfleet, Mass, right here on Cape Cod. I've
visited the site many times. Chatham is a better DX location because there is
less interference from the Boston stations but Marconi didn't
Heard last night on 940 : KYNO 1300 with 5000 is now the new KYNO 940 with
5 watts. Station was doing EE talk so I guess the SS format is history.
Could not detect what was happening on 1300. possibly a station swap between
the two. Anyone in the neighborhood with more definite info? Bill
This was announced months ago in the press. the owners of KYNO, a
locally owned group, swappwed... they took 940 from Multicultural Rado
Broadcasting and paid them a nice chunk of change and Multicultural got KYNO

Can you remember when 940 in Fresno was KFRE? They played real adult music
and I listen to them each night when I was living on Treasure Island in

signed off at midnight.

Started listening around 1300UT, and I'm sure I could have dug out a few more
stations if I'd stuck around, but it didn't seem all that worth it. A little
more listening around 1340UT pretty much verified that. Having said that, the
low band stuck around longer than yesterday, and there were
