That's very interesting because when I started my radio career as the all-night
jock on WQAM-560 Miami (then a rocker) several centuries ago, we kicked up to
our daytime 5kw at 4am (WQAM is 5000/1000 non-directional). Thanks to that, we
had quite a few listeners deep into the Caribbean. I may be

Bob,
Thanks for the recap of your catch of KMCD-1570-Fairfield IA. Nice
catch indeed from the east coast. It also pointed out another senior
moment I had while typing these logs. Yes, I heard KMCD on 1570 not
1580. KWNT Davenport was on 1580. I believe KMCD eventually went off

Last night I reconnected the ground rods to the end of the beverage.

I'll agree with you Willis. Here in Calif. sunset dx on the graveyard
frequencies has proved very fruitful. I've gotten some nice catches
600-900 miles away at that time. Thanks for the input.

I've taken all that into account Bill. Unfortunately in the month of
June I very rarely find any kind of skywave until way after our local

A very sluggish morning, at least in the 1250 to 1315UT time period.I could
barely dig out a little talk on 612 using preamplification, otherwise, just

I have done ok in June, but I like the Fall for LSS DX better. But I

Nick,
I always thought I'd have a good shot at northerly stations in June but
I just have dead sky wave most of the times I tried. I looked back over
my logs going all the way back to 1957. June was an almost total
bummer. In 69 & 76 I did add a couple stations in June at SSS but most
