Hi Nick,
Well, the threshold Chinese audio wasn't anything to shout about, but I
guess I'll take it (for so early in the season).
One if the quirks of the Puyallup valley TP-propagation is unusually good
reception of 738-Taiwan and other low-band Chinese, for some strange reason.
Even
Not much in the way of audio here this morning, even 891 didn't
make it:
738 - faint traces of audio, sounded Australian, but too weak to be
certain.
1116 - 4BC with talk program
1566 - Not nearly as good as yesterday, but traces of English talk noted.
1611 - very faint traces of music
A quick listen from 1240 to 1250UT this morning, plus another quicker listen at
1315. Pretty underwhelming, with just some of the Asian regulars making
erratic appearances.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):
1566 HLAZ, best at 1315,
Listened from 1302-1333 utc. Checked the pot last night on the ewe
and found it at 1500 ohms. Sprayed it will cleaner and reset the pot
to 950 ohms. Signals improved this morning during the 1/2 listening
period. TP signals almost made it to local sunrise.
279RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1312
Conditions was down from yesterday with no audio and only very weak carriers on
594, 693 and 774.

About the same poor DU reception here, though nothing for the high band
except hets. 774 poor DU audio; 891 weak DU audio; 1116 poor DU audio, all
1314-1335 utc. Even 891 didn't last very long today.

Sounds like the folks at CHSC might be rule tools and / or not the
sharpest of said ones in the shed, I still wonder if there could be a
potential DX test arranged?
Thanks and 73,

Hello All,
The Asiatic results here were pretty close to what Dennis observed, a
little further south. It was far from a stellar morning, but TP audio was
there
for those willing to tune around, and having reasonably low expectations
:-)

Good idea, but...
Given that the station is in court over this, and in a legal situation, I'm
not going anywhere near this...at least for now.

My CRTC contact in communications has e-mailed me a copy of the order allowing
CHSC to remain on the air pending the appeal. I can e-mail anyone who wants one

Hi,
Many thanks for your comments on my two UNIDs. I got some responses also
privately, and I'm inclined to believe that the Newsradio 1330 station
is indeed WHBL, which unfortunately is one of the more regular ones. The
other one may not even include a call-letter ID.

I think Powell Way ruled out SC, as they ID as NewsRadio WORD, not WYRD.

Might be a good idea tonight to watch for any East Coast stations - especially
in the Carolinas - on day facilities w/ EBS for Hurrican Earl.
