KAZG isn't discernable at night because last I knew Lumberyard 1440 or
Lamptimer 1440 signs off at sunset.

HI Guys:
Tuned around a little at Sunrise today since I am on Holidays and
didn't have to leave early for work. One New Station logged on the ULR,
however it is a RELOG for the OVERALL LOG. I last heard WKAM on Dec. 05

GM brought in a ham to design the antenna, so will this car be a performer

Makes sense, but gosh, I wonder why they are listed as 24/7 with 52w nights in
the NRC log.

They are licensed for that much at night, but last I knew, a few months ago,
they would sign off.

Lumberyard 1440 and Lamptimer 1440

Because that's what they're licensed for...but as a class D station,
they have no minimum operating requirement for that nighttime signal.
I don't think Wayne monitors the lists
Last nights 740khz tone tester signal would peak to a good level, suspect
someone close. WVLN Olney, IL would be my first choice followed by WRPQ
from Baraboo. WVLN is due south and it fits the loop bearing. Much further
out and much likely could be WIRJ Humbolt, or WJIG Tullahoma.

I will try 740 from my location one day this evening and let you know what I
find. Olney is Northeast of me.
I will see if i can dig up anyone closer who can hear 740.
FYI, the few times I have heard 740 Olney, it's had programming on it, as
far as I can tell.

I'm 50 miles from their transmitter site, and when on night pattern they are
unlistenable here ( yes I can sorta kinda hear them) but last night and tonight
they have been just DOMINANT. I am NW of the site and in a minor lobe. Bob
Smoak says he can barely hear them, so it appears they may

I may not have this state in my IL logbook. 73 KAZ
KAZ,
I know I don't have NH in my OR logbook!!! I do have NH from Seward AK.
I was hoping that one NH was going to X Band early on.

The eclipse is in full swing here with not a cloud in the sky. Take in the
sight if you can.
Now that I'm awake, I guess I can hit the dials and see what I can hear.
Happy hunting!
