As a DXer for the past nearly 50 years, in the early days up until the
70s, I always thought the radio stations will always be there, as few
signed off for good and not many changed calls or formats for that
matter. Then came the later 70s and into the 80s when all these Daytime
only stations
I was fortunate enough to hear verify KTKR back in the early 50s from
Iowa. On an ET I think. Heard a later call in the 80s from SF when the
1310 local was off the air for several months.

Don,
KTKR 1310 had a later call sign? I did not know that. as far as I know,
I only caught KTKR just the one time up here. I was pleased and even
more pleased when I got the QSL with the old letterhead.
