A light dimmer can be turned down and not off and the owner may not even

Unless we move on to acreage and have underground powerlines, there is
always the possibility of noise, but most of us cannot do that, so we
live with noise. I have been very lucky the last 30 years out here as
noise has been rare.

I have avoided CFLs just for the noise factor. I purchased a couple of LED
bulbs (yes, pricey) recently. While they seem to have a lot of advantages,
I was disappointed to see that they generated noise up to about 3 feet.

I have heard the LEDs are noisy too. The old tryed and true bulbs are
still throughout my house. I have stored a lot of them, so if they quit
making them, I still will have them for years.
