The RFSpace radios don't seem to like high impedance antennas
directly connected to the antenna terminal Phil. If you have a
Beverage matching transformer handy (for those DXpeditions?) you
could try using that to get something closer to the 50 ohms the
SDR-IQ is looking for. Of course, if

It's too stable IMO to be Mexico, given that nothing else from Mexico is in (at
least, yet) with any strength or consistency. My bet is Norco LA, unless some
other domestic airs Mexican music. The ID is supposed to be Fabulosa, and I

I have recently acquired a SDR-IQ digital wonder radio.
Right now, I'm in the "playing with" stage... seems to need a bigger antenna
than 30' strung around the house.
Any ideas/tips on operation or antenna welcome.

Doing a google search for "WPVS690" produces a post of yours form 2005 on
this list with the location of the transmitter being, "ation is located at
Exit 14 on Interstate 5. Antenna is on the North bound exit between off ramp
and Highway. "

Local HARs station WPVS 690 broadcasting on 530 kHz in Ridgefield, WA has
dropped it's NOAA
weather report. Now they are broadcasting a loop "You are listening to WPVS

I have notice this for the last couple of days. WQBQ 728 540 kHz is
broadcasting road delays on U
KATZ's IBOC hiss is a real nuisance here in SW Missouri too. I can kinda-sorta
null KATZ's crud to hear the Canadian on 1610, but I believe there's ALSO HD
Radio noise emanating from 1620...?

Not an easy morning to monitor due to the disturbed solar conditions. SF
was 112, A index 24, and K (at 12:00) 4. Moderate blackouts occurred during
the last 24 hours, and minor blackouts forecast for the next 24. I
monitored between 13:08 and 13:45 UTC. Of great interest was using Nick
Hall-Pa
Late start this morning starting at 1319. Russian long-waves gone by then.
Heard the
Australian station that broadcasts the Horsing results and calls on 891. Heard
one race
call before the fair signal dropped to weak.
594 Japan, JOAK NHK1 1319 fair with splatter and man in Japanese.

Nothing for LWBC due to the high solar activity, and little for LF beacons,
so an earlier check of MW. DU coming in early; lower band filled with hets.
891 with two DU stations at 1300 utc, for any with audio then. Later, 594,
702, 738, 774, 891, 1116 all DU. 891 as usual the last to fade away,
I'm a bit late getting this report out due to work and other activities,
but I had pretty good luck this morning (or yesterday morning depending
on when you read this message).
