I heard the 180 once from western NY. Very poor signal. I even got a QSL
for it. Stations from Turkey have a much reduced schedule these days. Off
at 1600 as I recall. Not sure why - saving power? More reliant on FM?
At Cappahayden NF each November we used to hear 180, 1017, 954. But it's
I've been very fortunate to hear Turkey on 180 KHz during the Ramadan of
2008 (Sept 21 actually @ 23:43 UTC). Except for a carrier at a het
strength on a very few occasions, I never heard it again (nor I saw any
carrier). On the following clip, there's a woman in Turkish then music:

I have never heard Turkey, but it was logged by someone in the NW on
1017 kHz (I believe). TAs are tough for me as I have a hill to the NE of
me.

Good to see your report Pat. You are so right about 891 this morning. My dream
DX catch (if the JJ and CC move out of the way) is radyo 1 from turkey. I think
the 600kw could make it past the others.. Has it made it to your radio in the
past??

Hi Dennis,
Great to hear from you. Yes, I happen to wake up early. I looked at the
clock, so I thought why not give the dials a try. With my work schedule
and all, I just have not had the energy to get up, but since I was
awake, I thought why not? Not bad either. I especially liked DZEC 1062.

Listened from 1240-1315 utc and conditions was up a little with carriers on
279, 594, 693 and 774. The only audio was on 693 and 774 at 1309 utc and it
was just at the noise level. The noise level was very high and sounds more
like July than late September. Not much t-storm noise just a lot
Hello All,
It was another mediocre morning for Longwave TP's, but several Asian
mainland stations had very good MW signals, especially 936-Anhui in
China (with its best audio of the new season). 738-BEL2 (Taiwan) was
received with a fairly strong buzzing carrier, but with undermodulated
audio, and
Patrick,
What a surprise to read your DX report this morning. Your antennas and receiver
sure pull in some great catches. This morning was one of the better mornings
of this
season.

Greetings,
Between my work schedule and everything else, I have been unable to get
to the dials early enough to really test out the R8 since I got it back
repaired last Summer for TPs. Well, this morning I finally did. I
started at 1320 UTC and the R8 works as good as it ever did, if not
better. T

Interesting you guys farther north had noise on LF. I had absolutely quiet
LF band once the static went away, from about 1215 utc on. Faint beacons
heard due to very quiet background.

The first day of fall produced improved TP conditions here in the Pacific

Good MW conditions for both Down Under and Asia today with both 774 Asian
and 891 Down Under hitting "8", medium level, and able to use Sync AM for
awhile. Both lasting a long time, and 891 DU finally beat out 774 Asian for

No question, Paul. I've heard KSL before (often, in the olkd mdays, and
occasionally in more recent years), so it's no huge deal to my logbook. I
absolutely highly doubt the TX station. Thanks.Saul> Date: Thu, 22 Sep 2011

For the last two nights I have noticed WJOX 690, Birmingham, AL very strong
just after sunset in Indianapolis. They change to the 50 kw night rig just
after 2000 EDT.
Heard on Grundig S-350 and Eton ULR.
