Cumulus just came in and fired everyone is what I heard. KGO will never
be a top rated station again. I don't envy the receptionist at KGO come
Monday. The calls will flood the station. KGO had regular listeners from
Alaska to Mexico. Millions listened to the station. To just throw out a

I agree. This is very sad.
KGO was a successful live, locally programmed talk station for years.
Going up against KCBS which has been all news for a long time and now is
available on both AM and FM is going to be a real challenge for Cumulus.
I thought the ultimate goal for companies such as

I thought when a signal got up to S9 ("extremely strong signal" using RST
reports), one would be seeing "50/00" readings on nearby blank channels on
Tecsun radios (and 88/25 to 94/25 on-channel, as well as over 66-72 dBu on IBOC
sidebands). ;)
I hear IBOC hash even adjacent to S3 "moderately wea
Wow!!! What a shock!!! That is too bad and very unfortunate. I wonder
what KGO's ratings will be like in the next book? They have been
News-Talk since the early 60s. I have been listening that long too,
since their first show done at the Hungry I with Les Crane. This is a
sad day.

Dennis,
Generally when a signal gets up to S9 on the R8, I get IBOC hash on
adjacents.
But 1150 & 1170 do have strong signals too.
Thanks for the info.

Wow! Looks like they will be losing one internet listener. I had my bedside

Patrick,
KSL 1160 was heard again today at 11:30 AM PST with about a S-7 signal.
No IBOC was noted on 1150 or 1170 as stronger signals were present on both
channels.

Offhand, 747 might be the best bet for hearing a TA & TP on the same frequency
at the same time. JOIB sometimes fades in around 0600, when Holland would
still have a darkness path to this part of the world (during this time of year,
anyway).

I was noticing your times being close together for TPs and TAs, and was
thinking...
Has anyone ever heard a TP *AND* a TA (each with strong enough audio to trip a
seek/scan function, or continuously peg a Tecsun radio's S/N indicator)
simultaneously competing on the same frequency? (Bonus poin
