Tuning in to 630 reveals a missing KCIS Edmonds -Seattle at 00: 10 PST. It is
normally strong enough to hide any backgrounders but at this time all I hear is
others and had a sports report about 5 minutes earlier probably from CHEDmonton
AB but now it's just a jumble of signals so I'm guessing
At 0:100 PST CJRJ 1200 Vancouver BC is on with unmodulated signal which is not
quite clear enough to hide a TOH ID from WOAI in San Antone Texas. This is not
the first time the Vancouver station has been without on air time. A studio to
TX link problem or downtime for program interruption?

Just a reminder about the KRSN DX test coming up this weekend:
KRSN Los Alamos, NM 1490 kHz
The DX test is scheduled for early Saturday and Sunday mornings, Jan
21 and 22 at midnight Mountain time. (0700 UTC)
The test will run for 10 minutes each time.
Included are sweep tones, 20 WPM Morse
IMHO, this is the best source for transmitting power. It may not be perfect
but it is updated frequently:

Second best, IMHO, is the WRTH.

Hi Guys:
One New AM BCB Station added to the ULR LOG last night. This is THANKS to a
Tip from SAUL CHERNOS in Burnt River, ONT. Saul received the Original Tip from
BARRY MCLARNON in Ottawa, ONT. So...Thanks to both of these DXers for alerting
me to this Station being on suspected DAYTIME
Saul: THANK YOU for not automatically suggesting they're cheating!
So often, what was really a propagation-related rare catch is assumed to be the
station operating illegally. g

Those FM translators are becoming a big factor in these day-timer/power
drop operations. Why remember to pull a switch if you're on all of the time
anyway?

Which part of Utah do you DXpedite in Mark? I recall some
impressive scenery near Hanksville, but my DX inhaler at the time was
limited to a small ALA100 antenna, plus a horizontal loop cut for 40
meters, and much of the radioing was ham rather than MW.
best wishes,

We have a really cool spot a couple of miles North of I-70 and perhaps 20
miles from the Colorado border. We have room to turn the 2000-footers in a
circle if need be.
We also have a spot on slick rock above the Green River that's used for
sleep outs and EWE DX-ing.
Come join us!
Regards,
I sure hope its erupting this time when we get there in June!

I've been hearing a het on 162 kHz in the morning past couple of months.
Since I thought only France Inter was on 162 I thought somehow I was getting
some weak transpolar reception, even when all such activity should have long
been gone by morning. But I treated myself to a new 2012 WRTH which
