My gosh, just a weak carrier on 1116 here in Victoria, Steve. Only
thing of note this morning was JOUB-774 signing off at fair to good
level at 1540UT, something that one wouldn't think unusual at this
time of year here, but it has been pretty weak to nil of late.
best wishes,

Patrick,
At our former location in Salmon Creek KKSN had a good signal, but we were only
14.8
miles from the towers. Our location in Kalama is 32.8 miles from the towers.
Just
checked the signal and its S-9+35db, with a station underneath. 11:10 PM PST.
Best regards,

Thanks Bruce. I'll send out a f/up. I have a very decent ID on cassette

Congratulations Bruce,
Recently, the challenge of getting QSL cards from many of TA and TP
broadcasters seems more formidable than making the reception itself.
Your patience is tracking down the 1215-Russia QSL is admirable, and
something that is totally lacking in an MP3-collector like me.

I don't think I sent return postage in this case. The envelope had a
3.00 and 2x 10p stamps on it, so I guess that would be 3.20 rubles,
whatever that works out to in dollars.

Good for you, Bruce! Those were the kind of QSLs when I was
collecting them years ago, I'd drool over for a few weeks!
Congratulations!.Walt

In today's mail I received a nice QSL for Russia-1215. It was for a
follow up to a November 2007 reception. My original report to Moscow
was unsuccessful, so in early December I sent the follow up in English
along with an audio CD to the transmitter site, which recently started

Thanks Dennis. I should check and see the new pattern. They don't have
the punch here they used to have. Are they weaker at your location?

Patrick,
This is the information I found out about KKSN. Daytime power is 3.3 kw with 2
towers.
Night time power is 4.3 kw with 3 towers. Towers are located 3.3 miles East
of I-205, on
Northeast Marine Drive and 213 yards from the Columbia river. New tower site

C-FAX, I have been listening to them since the mid 60s when I lived in
Seward AK. At 160 air miles away, I still get them pretty good.

I got a letter back from the KRSN test and the tones I heard did not
match their sweep tones. Nothing on the CD matched their programming. Oh
well, it was worth a shot. A nice bumper sticker and fridge magnet was
enclosed, so that was nice. Hopefully when they test again, I can give
it another shot
Dennis,
Where are the towers located now? Is 910 still using 4 sticks? 910 is
not nearly as strong here as they used to be. Logging KCJB Minot ND, I
could never have done when the old KISN site was used.
End of an era.
