Tried for 580 WHP had KMJ Fresno completely nulled but just my luck loud static
curtis in vacaville California Kiwa loop sony icf 2010 possibly may have had a
chance to possibly hear them but due to loud static nothing was heard. 1460
also had loud static and iboc from 1470 from radio disney
This morning (Monday 2-27) I heard WUTQ Utica - 1550 AM 95.5 FM with potent
signal from 0500 - 0600 Eastern.
They must be on one kilowatt full day power - not 3 watts night power.
Format is you-know-every-word pop hit oldies.
During the night of the DX test, I heard a station in Spanish with
Excellent here with fiddles and Indian music and CW and voice IDs. Now I have
to go back and check the tape to see if any other IDs popped in at 1am PST
since I don't have KKOV or the latest of many San Francisco calls.

Not many people seemed to have reported hearing them, so if you

WTKT-1460: code WTKT (.-- - -.- -) ID at 0046, under dreadful Canadian
oldies on CJOY groundwave, Catholic ETWN fire brimstone on WHIC Rochester
NY, and UNID SS, presumably WKDV Manassas, VA.

After trying for WTKT, I rotated the e-100 and heard Southern Gospel mx.
The program was part of Solid Gospel with solidgospel.com given over and
Your SS with tubas and such MUST be WDLR-OH. They are the bain of many
a-DXer. They are supposed to be 29 watts @ night but must be the full
500. They have done this for a while ;).

A later email said he got the OK to go Non-D, so I assume that's what he did.
The indices were up so that may have been a contributing factor, or there may

Decent propagation to start the evening until a solar disturbance began it's
effects. With the solar K index at 4 later on , propagation here favored
stations from across the Atlantic and to the south. Western signals were pretty
well non-existent for the most part.

WOW, Mike! When you say northern Alberta, you're not kidding! St. Isidore
almost doesn't show up on the Rand McNally road atlas for the province. In
such a remote area, and at such a northern latitude, I cant begin to imagine
how good DXing must be for you up there.

Thanks for the information.
I wish them luck with the business format. I think they'll need it due to
the high position they have on the AM dial and in my opinion, many people
don't listen to business formatted radio stations which may hurt them in the
long run.

Wow, that format held for almost eleven years and three call changes. Sad to

Agreed! My dx from NW Iowa always found KFYR with a good daytime
signal, year round. Concordia KS would be under them but KFYR was a
solid signal. From California I was always impressed with being able to
hear KUZZ-800-Bakersfield with 250 D daytime. This from West Sacramento
CA.
KSTP at night uses 3 tripod like towers that are specially geared for optimal
skywave. These towers are the original built back in the early history of KSTP.
When I was in Grand Island, NE back in the 80's, I remember that at night, KSTP
had a local signal, stronger than KRGI, that did not

670 Chicago made it to Grand Island along with 720. Also amazing was hearing
the old 850 KLEU under KOA right outside of GI with my Dads old 68 Catalina
fantastic radio and car for that matter! KLEU had 500w with one main lobe NNE
