With this frequency devoid of digital buzz tonight I'm hearing a couple of
signals on 1610 and although barely audible with the current equipment and in
this location it sounds like I'm probably getting the only two available
stations operating here but since the nearer one does a talk format I
They have a PSSA that allows then 3 kW until 8:15 PM, then 2 kW until
9:15 PM during March.

Oh wait. You're right.
I thought the FCC always specified powers in kilowatts, but looking at
the PSSA again I see it's watts...

I know it SAYS watts on the link, but it HAS to mean kilowatts. Let's look at
this reasonably -- the combined area of Casper-Evansville is 31.1 square
miles. 2 watts, or even 3, at night will NOT cover that in anyone's wildest
dreams. Why would KUYO be on the air with a peanut power like
Actually Rick, Im betting it is 2 and 3 watts.
I've reviewed PSSA and PSRA data and it is usually listed as XXX.XX Watts
so 3.2 Would be 3.2 Watts.
Who said they had to use it?
That being said, stations with night power whos night power is higher then
their PSSA can use the night power instead
KUYO is licensed for 25 kilowatts day; 9200 watts Critical Hours, then goes
off, to protect WCCO.

Don't know if they have PSSA but if so it'd be just a few watts, methinks
