A late submission today, but things weren't too exciting; better than the previous mornings, but nothing to jump up and down about. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): not quite; maybe tomorrow reasonable audio at times during the period

[IRCA] FCC may help remove electrical noise

2013-03-03 Thread Craig Healy
The FCC is considering acting on their current laws to remove noise on the AM band. There is an article about this. The link is posted on the AM-DX.COM site. http://www.am-dx.com If that actually happens, it will at least stop the increase of electrical noise that degrades DXing. I certain

At first, I was puzzled as to what you meant by "plastic frame", but now looking at an online photo of the back of the Quantum Loop V2.0, I see what you mean.  The frame is identical to the one on the Quantum QX loop that I used to own.  However, the QX Pro that I currently own is not a standa

I agree that those connecters are a pain. If you have a non-metallic tuning rod used for tuning RF circuits where a metallic blade would cause problems, try using that instead of a screwdriver to pry it off. Russ Edmunds 15 mi NNW of Philadelphia Grid FN20id FM: Yamaha T-80 & Onkyo T-450RDS

I don't let my 9V battery snap into the connector on the QX. I just snap it into the plastic frame and it is held tightly against the battery terminals. Works fine. There is minimal current flow. First time I used it, I snapped the battery fully into the connector. Nearly broke it trying to ge

Well, I've gone and done it again.  For the second time in recent months, while changing the 9-volt battery that powers my Quantum QX Pro loop antenna, I've managed to break the clasp (the one that snaps onto the top of a 9-volt battery) apart from the negative wire that goes into the back of
