This is sad. That leaves only PopCom and who knows how long they will
hold on. Web TV is going away Sept 30th too.
Things are changing.

I believe this choice of KSL is based on IBOC stations needing to use
transmitters exactly on channel to work properly , Guy, and KSL is a
widely heard IBOC station in the west. Having said that, I have
observed IBOC stations not exactly on channel, but KSL hasn't been one of them.

Hello All,
The last day at the Rockwork 4 cliff turned out to be the best DU-DXing
day of all, with both Australian and New Zealand stations pegging the PL-380
S/N on certain frequencies. Several Aussies which had been weak or MIA all week
suddenly became vibrant, and three of them
Steve - These patterns appear to be day-time only, although they do appear to
reflect not the maximum licensed power as some sites do but instead the actual
power used by each station. Good find -Paul Swearingen, Topeka

While adding the CantĂș "by frequency" lists to my Kindle bookmarks, I came
across a website that has coverage maps for Mexican AM and FM stations. The
maps are in PDF format and are arranged by states and then call letters (no
freqs).
Here is the URL (be careful with the line breaks) - it's LON
Bruce, Guy,
Thanks for confirming my suspicion regarding the Tonga frequency offset.
I hope this updated information makes its way into the MW offset list.
Poor conditions here this morning as evidenced by a very weak 738
carrier during sunrise enhancement. 1017 was completely absent.

Hi,fellas. Listened this morning and noted so so x-band conditions.
Nowhere near as good as a few days ago. Otherwise a fair Asian morning
with some very interesting unknown cochannels. Help please if you can:

I have an contact at A3Z 1017 in Tonga that I referred Gary to for absolute

I hope it helps.

Getting down to details, the MW Offset List as of March 2013 did not
list Radio Sport (NZ) on 1017. It does have Tonga but shows it on
1017.001 rather than its current frequency of 1017.008. No listing for
China either.
Radio Sport is likely to be what we were noting but I haven't listened

I need to be at the DX funnel (rock work 4)
DX is like a disco ball in a room with a mirrored celling and the TX is the

Hi Gary,
Ah, the mysteries of propagation! Double checked my Perseus
recordings to make sure I hadn't missed something earlier on, and no -
still very poor until the upper end of the band. The only additional
(very feeble) audio I discovered was on 1575 and 1683.24 (presumably

Hi Chuck,
Yes, that's why I said Jaguar "noted" JOLB's carrier, not that it *was*
that station. It always takes the experience of a DXer to interpret the
results of something like this, just like we shouldn't list-log a station
because it's shown in the PAL (for instance) as being on the frequency
Guy:
Same here - Tonga was 7.3 Hz high in a file I checked.
As for NHK on 1017. While possible, I think Jaguar is really making
a huge jump to a doubtful result. I'd bet Jaguar has few offsets and I'd
be amazed if they had offsets for Radio Sport and 2KY. Jaguar also
doesn't know that we
Hi Nigel,
Wow, it was the exact opposite during this last morning here at Rockwork 4.
By far the best morning for Australia the whole week, with 576, 774 and 792
pegging the PL-380 S/N readout. The Kiwis were enhanced too, though, leading to
snarling fights on many frequencies. The only thing
Hi Bruce, I've been using KSL 1160 as a calibration target for Jaguar for
some time, based on the recommendation of one of the Finnish DXers. I
forget who told me this (probably Mauno or Ilpo), but they said it's
preferred over KOMO.
After calibration on KSL, the Seattle station KOMO is measuring
This morning looked like a dud when I first tuned in at 1100, with even
Tahiti's carrier very weak. Indeed, Tahiti never did reach audio today,
and most of the other carriers were weaker than the past while. Was
pleasantly surprised when I reached the X-band though, to find weak
audio on both
Hello To All,
Heard a Spanish speaking station early this morning with "Caracol " mentions
occasionally on 1590 khz. Music played was lite type instrumentals. Signal was

Not sure if it was a Colombian station but can't find which of the choices on
I took a look at the KLZS transmitter site a couple of years ago when I had a

the California Central coast) to hear.
