The descriptions I read below of AM IBOC describe exactly how WBZ IBOC sounds
to me: horrible. AM radio sounded great years ago before the current NRSC audio
mask was implemented.

Swishy, very artificial-sounding. You know what I do with a web stream that
sounds like that? I ignore it and go somewhere else.

Has anybody listened to the audio clip of the test? The WBT signal goes to
digital near the end of the clip, starting with the CBS top-of-hour "bong" and
I am told all 300 feet of the ZBVI 780 tower is up. The task at hand is to
tune everything up and get things in spec, and ready to go.
This should, in my guess.. only take a few days since it's a single non
directional tower.

I listened for a few minutes at local sunrise (1154 GMT).
The only signal heard was a weak carrier (het) on 702 kHz
from approx. 235° at 1153-1158, presumely 2BL. It was
strongest at 1155, fading away at 1158.
Receiver: Modified Tecsun PL-310 with 7.5-inch ferrite loop
attached.

what would occur with co-channel digital stations or adjacent channels.
