1017 is delivering audio of sorts in Victoria 0600UT; a woman reading
news maybe, but can't really get any hint of language. Maybe others
will have more success. Any type of audio at all here from Tonga is
quite unusual.
best wishes,

Bill,
Thanks again for the 1017-Tonga mp3.
Even though this is about the fifth time I've heard it, I'll never get tired of
it :-) My own 1017-Tonga mp3 at Rockwork 4 this July had some rocky
domestic splatter that apparently extends all the way down the Oregon coast.

Another time.

Listened from 1255-1422 utc. Nothing on long wave this morning. Asian stations
were poor until the 1400 hour when a couple of Chinese stations popped in and a
unknown station on 1107. I need to hook up a recorder to help ID some of these
unknown stations that I have been hearing. Have a nice
It figures. WUFL is 1 of 6 stations that I'm pursuing on 1030 (along with
Maryland, Illinois, Arkansas, and both of the Tennessees), and I had
thunderstorms right on top of me last night. DXing was out of the question.

Thanks Marc. Nice mostly because Tonga so rarely fully modulates ... except
during music! And if that's not enough Murphy usually makes sure they fade
just before TOH. ;-))
This time the DXer won!

Hello All,
Overall it was another mediocre morning for TP's here, but at least a couple of
big gun Japanese started a halfhearted recovery program around 1400. Compared
to Dennis' results, the Asian stations received here were far more limited--
probably because of the more northerly

Any recovery has yet to show itself here, as once again TP audio was
completely absent. The only overseas audio was from Tahiti on 738, and
the strongest carriers were DU (with 1035 being the next strongest).

Today's DX here was almost a repeat of yesterday's.
I had weak audio from two TP stations:
1575VOA, woman in SEA language 1404
1602NHK2, the surprise of the morning with weak but very
recognizable time pips 1400. First audio of the season here.
Other than that, the low band NHK
Correction: the low band NHK stations were heard at 1325!
And add 1386 1422 and 1476 to the list of carriers noted at 1400
