My DX was pretty much like everyone else's today. Most of the usual
powerhouses took the day off. Only two NHK Stations were heard, and they
were just barely audible. It was really surprising to not hear any
trace of 747 972 or 1566.

I hope this is just for a day or so to keep the license alive. Not that the FCC

Mike,
Back in the 1960s, Seward AK was a great place to DX from. I think there was
only one or two NSP stations in the state and with only 18 stations the whole
state, the dial was pretty open. TAs over the pole, and all of the Asian DX. I
get a lot more DUs here, than I got there. Latins were
Alaska must be a great place to DX from. Close to Continental U.S., Canada,
Russia, and anything that comes over the "pole". Plenty of legendary stations
inside the state as well. I know a couple DXers managed to log KFQD at the
Seaside OR IRCA convention. Unfortunately I couldn't. Seward is a n

Hello All,
Nigel certainly hit it on the head, even for the coast-- a real clunker of a
morning, which no doubt sent DXers scrambling to check their antennas. It
looked like there might be no TP audio at all here, but 594-JOAK finally broke
through with poor Japanese conversation at 1345,
After the geomagnetic upset, I was expecting a bit of DU action this
morning, but it seemed there was just a general suppression of all
signals. The only audio, surprisingly, was from a couple of the
Japanese big guns.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,

Listened from 1320-1417 utc. No long wave stations heard this morning. Higher
channels had no audio here. Lower channels up to 1134 kHz all Japanese with the
exception of HLCA 972 kHz.

Easy to do a quick report today, as after a couple of better days,
it was back in the tank today. Zero audio, just several poor to fair
carriers.

I assume you mean EAS, which it's been for years.
it is likely some station doing a test.. and is automatic. So it just fires
off on it's own.
We have 3 stations where I work and it's impossible to co-ordinate all 3
stations, so it just lands where it lands.

Is it just me or am I hearing EBS tests a few times every evening while DXing
AM? Never any warning or ID ... just the 'theme music'.
