Is KDOW 1220 Palo Alto CA testing or running their new 50 KW?
They are quite strong tonight. They are normally lost with their lp at night.
They run 5KW days, or are they running that?
Thanks.

I listened from about 1145 until past local sunrise (1254). The only TP signal
observed was from 774 JOUB, Akita J. It faded in at 1222 with poor, unreadable
talk between woman and man. The unusally noisy signal was barely audible after
1226 until complete fade out at 1235. Then the whole

Hello All,
Asian results here this morning were very similar to Dennis' report as the TP's
partially recovered from yesterday's morbid state. 738-Tahiti started out the
session with fair level French female speech at 1310, and in a very rare
occurrence, 738-BEL2 also had fair audio on

someone please elaborate or link me?
If they're on with power tonight please let me know. 73 KAZ

Not on late, Dave.. they have 280 Watts of night power. Please get your
facts right, on late implies they are a daytimer that didn't shut off at
sunset.
I logged them about a month ago.. on what Im pretty sure was legal night
power.

As noted by others, things began to recover today. After zero
audio yesterday, 3 of the Japanese reached audio today, on 693, 774, and

category. All appeared late however, with no audio until about 1345.

Did KDOW drop the CP for 50 KW on 1220? It was listed earlier. Hopefully they
did drop it as 1220 is still a decent DX channel here except for the off and on
splatter from KVAS 1230. I heard OH quite often. Maybe KDOW was just on 5 KW
day power as they were pretty strong.

I'm hearing 840 WHAS under KXNT right now just south of El Cajon, CA, on my

wonder if other stations could be making it across the US tonight? :) (a quick

The 26th NRC Radio Log shows an application by KDOW (at the time KNTS) for U4
5 5, which in the 27th Log is upgraded to a CP. It stays in the NRC Log
through the 33rd edition, but in the current 34th has been dropped.

Thanks for the tip on WHAS 840. I gave the channel a try and only heard Solid

I did hear WHAS on October 2009 from my former location in Salmon Creek, WA
